Cause: when their house received a direct bomb hit

Letitia and Fred were in the air-raid shelter in 1940 with their daughter Elsie when Elsie was anxious to have lunch to go to play tennis, so they went up to the house which shortly after received a direct hit from a bomb. Letitia and Elsie were killed instantly, Fred surviving in the shelter. Elsie was unmarried but was courting a policeman at the time
